FORMS AND THEIR EFFECT IN SPACE - POTTERY SHAPE IN WIRE MODEL REPRESENTATION

ABOUT THIS WORK
This series explores the effect of forms in space, particularly through the abstract representation of vessel forms as wireframe models. The pottery forms selected for this investigation are deliberate choices due to their deep connection between physical form and its functional, as well as aesthetic, meaning.
This series explores the effect of forms in space, particularly through the abstract representation of vessel forms as wireframe models. The pottery forms selected for this investigation are deliberate choices due to their deep connection between physical form and its functional, as well as aesthetic, meaning. However, by translating these forms into wireframe models, their physical substance is eliminated and a spatial understanding is created that blurs the line between solid volume and empty space.
The wireframe models, which abstract the basic forms of pottery, dematerialise the original structure while allowing a new perception of space and the effect of form in a three-dimensional context. The wireframe not only represents the external form, but also reinforces the perception of empty space, which is in direct relation to the surrounding architecture.
